The Sunshine Forum is a Silica employee-driven charity initiative, run by a group of committed and interested Silica employees who want to make a difference and help those less fortunate than themselves.

Goals and Objectives
  • Face-to-face interaction with those less fortunate than ourselves
  • To arrange events for the underprivileged
  • To assist charitable and welfare organisations that are not well supported
  • To distribute employees' generous donations of clothing, goods and household items
  • To conduct ongoing research of projects and people in need
  • To provide an infrastructure for employees of Silica to give back to society
  • To create a database of referral for crisis assistance
Philosophy and Principles
  • To make those less fortunate than ourselves feel loved and accepted by making a personal contribution and adding a ray of sunshine to their lives. Our contribution will not necessarily be financial but also involves giving time and showing care, acceptance and support
  • To assist in South Africa's development and contribute to the lives of the people in our country
  • To be accountable for all we do, including proper administration, training and research
  • To concentrate on charities that have minimal support
  • To assist in any capacity which will make a difference
  • To support any worthy cause irrespective of race/religion
